Saphe
Saphe Shamoun is a PhD candidate in anthropology at Columbia University in NYC. Working between anthropology, intellectual history, critical theory, and Middle East Studies, Saphe’s work grapples with the question of political imaginaries and how groups envision alternatives. Through his “fieldwork in political concepts,” he explores the lifeworlds, openings, and foreclosures of the 2011 Syrian revolution and its afterlives.
